Cancelling this blog

It seems as though this blog isn't reaching as many people as the Yahoo Group. For that reason, I intend to discontinue the blog, at least for the time.

Get published!

If you've visited our website, you've probably also seen the Past Reunions section. It's a great place to check out what happened and maybe even see a picture! But, this year, I am in need of a volunteer to write a summary of events at the 2007 Reunion. For that matter, if you remember something about a reunion for which there is no summary, and wish to contribute to our site by adding one, please let me know!

You can be a STAR!

I would love to use this space to announce special events, such as graduations, births, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, anything you deem worthy of announcement. I can even post a picture! If I hear of a birth or some other such event, I will not post it unless express permission is given to me by an involved party, since this blog is open to all eyes, so please, let me know!

And of course, I will never include last names or any other identifying information. If the event calls for it, I will direct people to get more information at the Yahoo Group, which is only available to members - us!

Reunion pictures

Some of you already know that my doctor has strongly recommended that I not attend the reunion, given my late stage of pregnancy. However, I am looking forward to seeing all the pictures that you take! Please, if you haven't done so already, join the Collinsworth Yahoo Group, and post your pictures. It's a great way to share with everyone!

Uploading pictures is very easy to do, especially if you already have a digital camera. If you don't, at the time you get your film developed, most places offer a service to make a digital cd for a small fee. Once you have them in digital form, go to the Yahoo Group, and on the toolbar to the left of your screen, select Photos. I have already created a folder called 2007 Reunion, so just click on that and "Add photo." If you are the first to post to this folder, the "Add folder" link will be in the center of the screen, and if you aren't, it will be on the right side of the screen.

Please do not delete someone else's pictures. If you are disturbed by something you see, please contact the person who posted and discuss it with them. Likewise, please be courteous in your selection of photos that you upload.

You can also use Yahoo to post pictures of your family, like school pictures or family vacation pictures or even the latest project you finished! Just create a new folder for it by following the easy directions on the site. If you have any problems, you can always give me a call and I'll walk you through it. Remember, this is your site, and you can do with it pretty much what you want!

Important hotel info for reunion

Suzee called to reserve a room at the Ramada and was told that they didn't have a "block" of rooms under Trish's name. Trish called to find out the problem, and it turns out that there is a special deal, but that it isn't called a "block." She said that you should be able to get the deal by mentioning her name, but do not mention the word "block" to avoid confusion. If you call during the day, and there is a problem, you can try asking for Becca, the woman with whom Trish has been working.

The phone number is 937-283-3200 and you have a choice between a king bed or two queens.

Information for Rodney Grimes and Dawn Farley has been updated since the newsletter. The changes can be found on the Yahoo Group in the Database section (link is on the left side of the screen). Then click on "Complete Phonebook."

Fun for the kids!

Terri and Cindy have purchased a nice wading pool and a Slip 'n Slide for the kids to play with at the reunion this year. A great way to stay cool and keep entertained! Thank you!!
