New website!
When I was a teenager, Mom (Barb) started taking us to family reunions. I remember feeling awkward, because I didn't "know" that many people. Now that I've been to at least six reunions, I've met many more people in the clan, but I recognize how tenuous this bond is that holds us together. One day a year we gather from various parts of the country and celebrate with a picnic, but with all of the innovative web technologies available to us, we can easily keep in contact throughout the year.
I talked it over with a couple of people, and we agreed it would be nice to have an easy way to stay in touch with members of the ever-expanding Collinsworth clan during the non-reunion season; so I have created a webpage for us! It is a place to share recipes and photos, swap stories, learn a bit about our history, and chat with other family members.
It is also a work in progress. If you have any suggestions, please email me!
Because of the importance of privacy, I will not post any last names (besides Collinsworth), addresses, or other personal information. I haven't found a way to secure the website for Collinsworth eyes only without paying an annual fee. I have, however, created a Yahoo Group for us. It can be monitored so that only members approved by the monitor (me) can view posts, read archives, look at photos, or participate in anyway, therefore providing a safe webspace for the everyone to participate and talk with each other.
Of course, this cannot be a one person operation, and I will need everyone's help and support. Please stop by and view the website every once in awhile, and show me it isn't for nothing. Share a recipe or a story - I won't edit or censor! I especially need your help now to get it off the ground, so please, send me something to post!
